Fan Theories We Hope Are True

The Speculation is Wild

The GTA community is undefeated when it comes to speculation. With the new trailer out, the theory machine is in overdrive. While some theories are wild (no, you probably can't fly to Liberty City), others are so good we desperately want them to be in the final game. Here are our favorites.

1. The "Bonnie & Clyde" Betrayal

This is the big one. We know the game centers on Lucia and her male partner (Jason?). The "Bonnie & Clyde" dynamic is obvious. But what if it's a setup for a deeper narrative? The theory goes that the game will force you to play as both, but at a key moment, one will betray the other, leading to a massive story split or a revenge plot. It would be a huge step up from GTA V's three-protagonist story.

2. An Evolving Map

We saw flooded streets and construction sites in the trailer. This theory suggests the map will not be static. What if, over the course of the story, hurricanes dynamically hit the map, changing the landscape, flooding areas, and opening new ones? What if those construction sites are actually completed as the in-game months pass? This would make the world feel truly alive.

3. A Multi-City Map (Sort of)

Okay, so flying to Liberty City is unlikely. But what about smaller, nearby islands? The theory is that the "Leonida" map will include not just Vice City but a chain of islands (like the Florida Keys, or even a small stand-in for a Caribbean island) that you can access by boat or plane. This would be perfect for smuggling missions and would make exploration so much more rewarding.

4. The Return of Tommy Vercetti?

This one is a long shot, given that Ray Liotta, Tommy's voice actor, has passed away. But what if Tommy makes a silent return as an older, established kingpin? What if he's the "man" that our protagonists are trying to rip off? Even a small cameo or a reference to him still running things from his mansion would be an incredible nod to the fans and a perfect passing of the torch.
