5 Things You Might Have Missed in the GTA VI Trailer

The Trailer That Broke the Internet

We've all watched it. Probably a hundred times. But the sheer density of detail in the first official trailer means some subtle clues were bound to slip by. Here are five things you might not have caught on your first (or fiftieth) viewing.

1. The "Thrust" Sticker

During the convenience store robbery scene, look closely at the door. There's a sticker for "Thrust" with the tagline "The Gas Guzzling American Dream." This is a classic GTA parody, likely a stand-in for a real-world energy drink or gas station brand, and it shows the series' signature satire is fully intact.

2. Returning Radio Stations

In the background of the beach scene, a car drives by, and while it's faint, the music is unmistakable for fans of Vice City. It sounds like a new version of the V-Rock or Emotion 98.3 jingle, hinting at the return of iconic radio stations from the original 3D-era game.

3. The Alligators

We all saw the alligator in the swimming pool, but did you see the one on the golf course? Or the one lurking in the flooded street? It seems wildlife, especially dangerous wildlife, will be a much more present and dynamic part of the world, likely moving beyond the simple "predator" zones of GTA V.

4. Lucia's Ankle Monitor

When Lucia is on the hotel balcony with her partner, take a quick look at her left ankle. She appears to be wearing an ankle monitor, which strongly suggests that a significant portion of the game (or at least her storyline) will involve being on probation, parole, or house arrest. This could create fascinating new gameplay mechanics and restrictions.

5. The Tom Petty Reference

The trailer is set to Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road." While a great song, it's also a very specific choice. Tom Petty was from Florida, the real-world inspiration for Vice City. This choice grounds the game in the culture of its setting and pays homage to one of the state's most legendary artists. It's a perfect tone-setter.
